Husi Vineyard

The Husi vineyard is situated in the eastern part of Romania, the surface cultivated by Senator Wine is approximately 100 ha, on two farms:

The vineyard is especially renowned for its white wines.

The Controlled Origin Denomination (DOC) is HUSI / Dealurile MOLDOVEI, and the one for the Geographical Indication (IG) is Dealurile Husilor

Vrancea Vineyard

Vrancea is the biggest vine-growing area in Romania and represents approximately 11% of the total land cultivated with vines at a national level (almost 20-25% of the wine production from Romania is in Vrancea).

The vineyards in Vrancea are split in three major areas: Panciu, Odobesti and Cotesti. In these areas, Senator Wine cultivates 150 hectares of wine.

Insuratei Vineyard

The Insuratei Braila vineyard is relatively new on the vineyard map of Romania, being around 50-60 years old.

The terrain in this areas is very sandy, meaning that it offers excelent conditions for vines.

The surface exploited by Senator Wine is 246 Ha.

At the moment, all of the surface is exploited ecologically and is the largest ecological vineyard from Romania.

Feteasca Neagra
Babeasca Neagra

Following the replanting process, 136 Ha have been replanted with the following varieties:

Cabernet Sauvignon
Shiraz
Chardonnay
Pinot Gri
Feteasca Neagra

Tirol Vineyard

The Tirol vineyard is situated in the western part of Romania, in the region of Dealurile Banatului, near the village which name it received.


The village of Tirol was founded in 1810 and the name comes from its first inhabitants who came from the Austrian town of Tirol and who took refuge in this place after the battle won by Napoleon Bonapart at Wagram in 1809.

The first vineyards were established before 1848 (approximately 90 hectares).

At the moment, the vineyard expands on a surface of 285 Ha and contains the following varieties:

Muscat Ottonel
Cabernet Sauvignon
Merlot
Cadarca
Majarca
Burgund

The Controlled Origin Denomination (DOC) for this vineyard is BANAT / Dealurile TIROLULUI and the Geographical Indication (IG) is Dealurile Carasului.
